How does overdraft protection work?
With your Traditional Checking Account, you have the option to designate multiple overdraft protection sources from CAFCU savings and line of credit loans using the Overdraft Protection Opt-In Form on our forms page.
This fee-based service automatically transfers available funds from your designated account in the event an item is presented against non-sufficient funds in your checking account. This service is automatically set up on all checking accounts when your account is established. The default designated source account is your Regular Share account, but your checking account can have more than one designated overdraft source.
If you know you are close to overdrawing your account, you can avoid the overdraft fee by completing transfer of funds into your checking account within our
digital banking app.
